Role Overview
A Mechanical Planner develops detailed maintenance plans, schedules work, and ensures all resources (labor, materials, tools) are available before execution. The goal is to improve efficiency, safety, and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
🛠️ Maintenance Planning
- Review maintenance requests and work orders
- Scope jobs and define required tasks
- Prepare detailed job plans (step-by-step procedures)
- Estimate labor hours and required manpower
📅 Scheduling & Coordination
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams
- Plan shutdowns, preventive maintenance (PM), and breakdown work
- Prioritize jobs based on urgency and impact
📦 Resource Management
- Identify and arrange spare parts, tools, and equipment
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams
- Ensure materials are available before job execution
📊 Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Update job plans, equipment history, and maintenance logs
- Analyze maintenance data to improve planning
⚙️ Continuous Improvement
- Optimize maintenance procedures

- Support reliability and preventive maintenance strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications
🎓 Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
🧠 Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.)
- Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo)
- Understanding of maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive)
