Job Summary
The Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for transporting goods, materials, or equipment safely and efficiently using heavy-duty vehicles. The role includes ensuring timely delivery, maintaining vehicle condition, complying with traffic and safety regulations, and completing all required transport documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, tankers, or construction vehicles
- Transport materials and goods to designated locations safely and on time
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure vehicles are properly loaded and secured before transport
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain trip logs, fuel records, and delivery documentation
- Report accidents, delays, breakdowns, or vehicle maintenance issues promptly
- Keep vehicles clean and in good operating condition
- Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients as required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License
- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles
- Good knowledge of traffic laws and road safety standards
- Ability to drive long distances and work flexible schedules
- Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge
- Good physical fitness and stamina
