Position Title: Civil Estimation Engineer
Job Summary:
The Civil Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions for civil construction projects. The role involves analyzing project drawings and specifications, evaluating material and labor costs, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting project planning to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and plans.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare tender documents, bid proposals, and cost breakdowns.
- Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients during the bidding process.
- Maintain and update cost databases, pricing records, and estimation templates.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and project cost control activities.
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards, project specifications, and industry regulations.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical discussions when required.
- Support project teams with cost-related information throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, or cost engineering.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and project execution.
- Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and related engineering tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge of local construction standards, regulations, and market rates.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
