Site Engineer | Job Description (Metal Fabrication / Aluminium / Façade Industry)
A Site Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising on-site execution of metal fabrication works such as steel structures, aluminium systems, façade installation, glazing, and related construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and as per drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site installation activities for aluminium, steel, façade, and related works.
- Interpret and execute shop drawings, structural drawings, and installation details.
- Coordinate between project manager, design team, workshop, and site workers.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, fixing, and finishing of installed components.
- Monitor daily site progress and report updates to the project team.
- Verify materials delivered to site against approved drawings and BOQs.
- Resolve technical issues during installation and coordinate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and foremen.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, aluminium systems, and façade installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Basic knowledge of site measurement, surveying, and installation techniques.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Problem-solving ability in site conditions.
- Familiarity with MS Office and basic AutoCAD (reading level).
