QA/QC Engineer – Joinery (Production Line) | Job Description
A QA/QC Engineer in Joinery (Production Line) is responsible for ensuring all wooden products manufactured in the workshop meet required quality standards, design specifications, and client requirements before dispatch and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials such as MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, solid wood, hardware, and fittings.
- Monitor quality at every stage of production: cutting, machining, assembly, finishing, and packing.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and finishing as per approved shop drawings and samples.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of joinery products (doors, cabinets, wardrobes, furniture, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, QC checklists, and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with production and workshop teams to resolve quality issues.
- Check surface finishing quality (lamination, polishing, painting, veneer work).
- Maintain documentation for audits, approvals, and project handover.
- Ensure products are ready for dispatch without defects or rework issues.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of joinery production processes and woodworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical details.
- Familiarity with woodworking materials and finishing standards.
- Knowledge of inspection tools and quality control procedures.
- Understanding of ISO quality systems (preferred).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Typical Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Wood Technology / Interior Fit-Out
- Industrial Engineering (preferred)
Experience
- Usually 2–5 years of experience in:
- Joinery manufacturing
- Furniture production
- Interior fit-out QA/QC roles
