Job Summary
The Payroll Executive is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company policies. The role includes maintaining payroll records, managing employee attendance and leave data, handling payroll-related queries, coordinating statutory filings, and supporting audits and HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain employee payroll records, salary structures, and compensation data.
- Verify attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, and deductions before payroll processing.
- Calculate salaries, bonuses, reimbursements, and final settlements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and statutory regulations.
- Process statutory deductions and coordinate filings related to PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare payroll reports, salary registers, and management reports.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee and payroll data.
- Resolve employee queries related to salary, tax, deductions, and payslips.
- Support payroll audits by maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Prepare Full and Final (F&F) settlements for separated employees.
- Ensure confidentiality of payroll information and employee data.
- Assist in payroll process improvements and HR/payroll system updates.
- Generate payroll-related MIS reports and analytics for management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll administration or payroll operations.
- Experience using payroll software or HRMS applications.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and statutory compliance.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll accounting.
- Familiarity with statutory compliance, including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, and labor regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HRMS/ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of payroll taxation and labor law compliance.
- Experience handling payroll for large employee populations.
- Certification in Payroll or HR Operations is an added advantage.
