Job Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting activities. The role involves handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoice processing, and general accounting tasks while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting and finance activities.
- Record financial transactions accurately in accounting systems.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
- Maintain and update general ledger records.
- Assist with monthly closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
- Verify supporting documents for financial transactions.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with payment follow-ups.
- Process expense reports and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain organized financial files and accounting records.
- Assist with preparation of audit documents and provide required information during audits.
- Support budget preparation and financial data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Assist senior finance staff with accounting tasks and special projects.
- Identify discrepancies and report issues to supervisors for resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts and bookkeeping practices.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to prepare basic financial reports and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of VAT/tax documentation and compliance is an advantage.
- Good data entry accuracy and record-keeping skills.

Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based within the finance department.
