Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector to monitor and inspect electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable electrical codes, and quality standards. The Electrical Inspector will conduct site inspections, verify workmanship and materials, identify non-conformities, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure safe and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
- Inspect electrical installations including conduits, cable trays, wiring, power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm systems, low-current systems, and electrical equipment.
- Verify that materials and equipment delivered to the site conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
- Monitor installation quality and ensure work is performed according to approved method statements and industry standards.
- Identify defects, non-conformities, and quality issues, and issue inspection reports with recommendations for corrective action.
- Verify completion of corrective actions before approving subsequent work.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project engineers, and other disciplines to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, inspection requests, and method statements related to electrical works.
- Attend site coordination and progress meetings.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates on inspection activities.
Testing & Commissioning
- Witness electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, grounding tests, functional tests, and system performance tests.
- Ensure testing documentation is complete and complies with project requirements.
- Participate in pre-commissioning and final acceptance inspections.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure electrical works comply with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Maintain inspection records, site diaries, quality reports, and inspection checklists.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and punch lists.
- Support snagging, de-snagging, and project handover activities.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, approvals, and testing records.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure electrical installations are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor safe electrical work practices and report unsafe conditions.
- Promote compliance with company quality management systems and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical inspection, construction supervision, or quality control.
- Experience with commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods, testing procedures, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with local electrical regulations and international standards.

- Understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 is preferred.
