Job Summary
The Stretch Trainer/Therapist is responsible for providing one-on-one assisted stretching sessions designed to improve flexibility, mobility, posture, movement efficiency, and overall physical well-being. The role assesses clients' movement patterns, develops personalized stretching programs, educates clients on injury prevention, and supports recovery and performance enhancement while maintaining a safe and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations, health screenings, and movement assessments to determine flexibility, mobility, and functional limitations.
- Develop individualized assisted stretching programs based on client goals, physical condition, and assessment findings.
- Perform safe, effective manual stretching techniques to improve flexibility, range of motion, posture, and muscle function.
- Educate clients on stretching techniques, body mechanics, posture, and injury prevention strategies.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment or training plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate client records, treatment notes, and progress documentation.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, chiropractors, personal trainers, massage therapists, and other healthcare or fitness professionals when appropriate.
- Identify contraindications and refer clients to qualified healthcare providers when conditions fall outside the scope of practice.
- Ensure treatment areas, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Promote client retention by providing excellent customer service and supporting wellness goals.
- Stay current with industry best practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Comply with company policies, ethical guidelines, and health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or certification in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, Physical Education, Athletic Training, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Massage Therapy, or a related field.
- Certification in assisted stretching or flexibility training is preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is desirable.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in assisted stretching, personal training, rehabilitation, sports performance, physiotherapy support, massage therapy, or a related wellness field.
- Experience working with athletes, active individuals, older adults, or rehabilitation clients is an advantage.

Working Conditions
- Fitness centers, wellness clinics, rehabilitation centers, sports performance facilities, chiropractic clinics, physiotherapy practices, or private studios.
- Requires prolonged standing, physical activity, and assisting clients with stretching movements.
- May involve evening, weekend, or flexible working hours to meet client schedules.
