Position: QA/QC Civil Engineer
Job Summary:
The QA/QC Civil Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards. The role involves implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the project's Quality Management System (QMS) and QA/QC procedures.
- Inspect civil works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality checklists.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Verify construction activities including excavation, foundations, concrete works, masonry, structural steel, finishing works, roads, and infrastructure.
- Monitor material inspections and ensure only approved materials are used on site.
- Review material test reports, laboratory results, and field test records.
- Prepare Requests for Inspection (RFIs) and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify non-conforming work, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans, ISO 9001 requirements, and relevant construction standards.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Typically 5–10 years of experience in QA/QC for civil construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of international standards such as ASTM, ACI, BS, and ISO 9001.
- QA/QC certification or ISO Internal Auditor certification is an advantage.

- QA/QC Manager
- Project QA/QC Manager
Working Environment
- Primarily based at construction project sites.
- Requires regular inspections, coordination with consultants and subcontractors, review of test results, and monitoring of construction quality throughout the project lifecycle.
