Position: QA/QC Electrical Engineer
Job Summary:
The QA/QC Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, contract requirements, and quality management procedures. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for electrical works.
- Inspect electrical installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
- Review electrical shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and inspection/test plans (ITPs).
- Conduct inspections for cable installation, cable tray systems, conduits, switchgear, transformers, panels, lighting, grounding, and other electrical systems.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors.
- Monitor electrical testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, continuity, functional, and performance tests.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, checklists, test records, and material approval records.
- Raise and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Verify that approved materials are used and installations meet project quality requirements.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Coordinate with site engineers, construction teams, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans, HSE requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Typically 5–10 years of experience in QA/QC for electrical works in construction, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and project-specific specifications.
- QA/QC certification and ISO 9001 knowledge are preferred.
- Experience in testing and commissioning is an advantage.

Reporting To
- QA/QC Manager
- Project QA/QC Manager (depending on the organization)
Working Environment
- Primarily based at construction or industrial project sites.
- May involve working in substations, commercial buildings, industrial plants, or infrastructure projects.
- Requires regular site inspections, coordination with project teams, and participation in testing and commissioning activities.
