Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HSE Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental practices across project sites and ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing HSE programs, conducting inspections, promoting a safety culture, and minimizing workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports, records, and documentation.
- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
- Monitor compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct safety drills.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.
- Ensure environmental protection measures are implemented at project sites.
- Track HSE performance indicators and recommend continuous improvements.
- Support the implementation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Good communication, leadership, and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage site safety requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting systems.
