Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration for construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
- Manage project costs from pre-construction through project completion.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and participate in tender negotiations.
- Administer contracts, monitor variations, and manage change orders.
- Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide regular cost reports to management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, industry standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and clients.
- Assess and manage project risks related to costs and contracts.
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and procurement processes.
- Experience with residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying or estimating software.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or other standard forms of contract is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
