Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented MEP Quantity Surveyor – Post-Tendering to manage cost control, contract administration, and commercial activities for MEP projects after contract award. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring project costs, preparing valuations, managing variations, reviewing subcontractor claims, and ensuring MEP works are delivered within budget and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage post-contract quantity surveying activities for MEP works, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure accurate cost management.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and verify completed MEP works at site.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and financial performance.
- Prepare interim payment applications, valuation reports, and final account statements.
- Evaluate variations, additional works, and change orders for cost impact.
- Review and assess subcontractor quotations, invoices, and payment claims.
- Coordinate with project managers, MEP engineers, consultants, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
- Maintain records of project costs, variations, and contractual correspondence.
- Support claims preparation and resolution of commercial issues.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist in value engineering initiatives.
- Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates for management.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably in post-contract/project execution roles.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience in cost control, variations, interim valuations, and final account preparation.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage project deadlines.
