Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor – Post-Tendering to manage commercial and cost control activities after contract award for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contract administration, cost management, variations, interim valuations, subcontractor management, and ensuring MEP projects are delivered within budget while maintaining contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage post-contract commercial activities for MEP works including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and related systems.
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work to ensure cost control and compliance.
- Prepare and evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works claims.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim payment applications, valuation reports, and final accounts.
- Review subcontractor quotations, invoices, and payment certifications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and verify executed MEP works at site.
- Coordinate with project managers, MEP engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients on commercial matters.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, commitments, and variations.
- Analyze project risks and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in contract negotiations and resolution of commercial disputes.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates for management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying with strong post-contract experience.
- Proven experience handling commercial aspects of MEP projects in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure developments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
- Experience in variations, claims management, interim valuations, and final account preparation.
- Knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC and other standard contract forms is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
