Job Description: Project & Construction Officer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project & Construction Officer to plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from initiation through completion. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor construction activities to ensure timely project completion.
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure quality workmanship.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contracts before execution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and government authorities as required.
- Prepare project progress reports, site reports, and documentation.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Verify work completed and assist in project handover and close-out activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local building codes, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing material requirements and coordinating deliveries.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on project status and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3β5 years of experience in construction project management or site supervision.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, and quality control.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
