Job Description: QA/QC, Materials & HSE Officer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA/QC, Materials & HSE Officer to oversee quality assurance, quality control, material management, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across project operations. The successful candidate will ensure that materials and construction activities meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures and inspection plans.
- Conduct inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
- Identify non-conformities, prepare corrective action reports, and follow up on their implementation.
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and test records.
Materials Management
- Inspect and verify incoming materials for compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate material testing, storage, handling, and traceability.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate material records.
- Liaise with procurement, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely availability of approved materials.
- Ensure proper documentation for material approvals, certifications, and inspections.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Implement and monitor compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Promote safe work practices through toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness programs.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
- Ensure employees use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with safety procedures.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, permits, and incident documentation.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in QA/QC, materials inspection, or HSE within construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, inspection procedures, and HSE regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or equivalent standards is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality/document management systems.
- Relevant certifications in QA/QC or HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, Lead Auditor) are desirable.
