Job Description: Site Supervisor (MEP Division)
Job Summary
The Site Supervisor (MEP Division) is responsible for supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems at project sites. The role ensures that all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily MEP installation activities at the project site.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Allocate tasks to technicians, subcontractors, and site workers and monitor their performance.
- Inspect MEP works to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other site teams.
- Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals before execution.
- Ensure the timely availability of materials, tools, equipment, and manpower.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify issues requiring corrective action.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and ensure safe work practices.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
- Prepare daily site reports, work progress reports, and site documentation.
- Resolve technical and site-related issues promptly to minimize delays.
- Verify completed work for quality and compliance before handover.
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to project management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant technical certifications in MEP systems or HSE are an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of MEP installation methods and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project documentation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and project management software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of local building codes, MEP standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in MEP site supervision within construction, commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in coordinating multiple MEP disciplines and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and project handover processes.
Work Environment
- Primarily based at construction project sites with regular coordination with office-based engineering and project management teams.
- Frequent outdoor work and site inspections.
- May require overtime, weekend work, or travel depending on project schedules and deadlines.
