Job Summary
The Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, supporting daily kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
- Keep all kitchen areas clean and organized at all times.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required.
- Remove waste and dispose of it in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain clean storage areas, refrigerators, and dry stores.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods.
- Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
