Estimated Monthly Salary: QAR 14,000
Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer (E&I) specializes in developing the Electrical and Instrumentation portions of EPCIC tender proposals. This role is critical for ensuring all power systems, instrumentation, control systems, and telecommunications scopes are accurately quantified and competitively priced to contribute to a winning bid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for all Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) works within Oil & Gas EPCIC tenders.
- Review E&I drawings, datasheets, loop diagrams, and specifications to perform accurate material and labor take-offs.
- Source and evaluate vendor quotations for electrical equipment, instruments, cables, junction boxes, and control systems.
- Calculate costs for installation, cabling, termination, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Liaise with E&I designers and engineers to clarify technical requirements and ensure estimate completeness.
- Develop the E&I man-hour estimate and integrate it into the overall project schedule.
- Assist in the preparation of the technical clarifications and commercial exceptions related to the E&I scope.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in Tendering and Estimation, specifically for Oil & Gas EPCIC projects.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of E&I systems used in upstream/downstream Oil & Gas facilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating costs for HV/LV systems, instrumentation loops, control systems (DCS/PLC), and hazardous area equipment. Familiarity with relevant international standards (IEC, API, ISA).
