Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates for mechanical and piping components of EPCIC bids. This role combines strong technical knowledge with commercial acumen to deliver reliable estimates that form the backbone of competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Piping, and Structural scopes for Oil & Gas EPCIC projects.
- Analyze P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometric drawings, and piping specifications to perform material quantification.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor offers for static equipment, rotating machinery, valves, piping, and structural steel.
- Estimate fabrication, erection, welding, painting, and insulation man-hours and costs.
- Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to understand technical solutions and construction methodologies.
- Support the Senior Estimation Engineer in consolidating the total project estimate and preparing supporting documentation.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 7 years specifically focused on Tendering and Estimation within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid background in EPCIC projects, with a clear understanding of mechanical and piping construction sequences.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in estimating for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, and pipelines. Knowledge of ASME, API, and ANSI standards.
