Reports To: Assistant Manager / Restaurant Manager
Supervises: Waiters/Waitresses, Runners, Host/Hostess
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Team Leader is a hands-on role model who ensures the smooth execution of service during their shifts. They guide and support the serving team, maintain service standards, and act as the primary point of contact for guests and staff on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift Supervision: Lead the front-of-house team during assigned shifts, delegating tasks and ensuring efficient section management.
- Service Excellence: Monitor the quality of service, ensuring all guests receive attentive, friendly, and personalized care. Step in to serve tables during peak periods.
- Training: Assist in training new hires on service procedures, menu knowledge, and POS system use.
- Problem Resolution: Address minor guest inquiries and service issues immediately, escalating to management when necessary.
- Quality Control: Check the dining area for cleanliness, set-up, and stock levels (menus, condiments, station mise-en-place).
- Communication: Serve as a vital communication link between wait staff, kitchen, and management. Conduct pre-shift briefings.
- Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to all safety, hygiene, and grooming standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a Senior Waiter/Waitress or Team Leader in a quality restaurant.
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage.
- Strong interpersonal and team motivation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good command of English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Leadership potential and a proactive attitude.
