Reports To: Events Manager / Banquet Manager
Supervises: Event Wait Staff, Bartenders, Runners
Job Summary:
The Events Shift Leader is responsible for the on-the-ground execution of banquets and events during their shift. They lead the event service team to ensure flawless setup, service, and breakdown according to the specific Event Order and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Execution: Lead the F&B team in setting up rooms as per banquet event order (BEO) – including linen, tableware, staging, and equipment.
- Briefing: Conduct pre-event briefings for the service team, detailing the timeline, menu, service style, and VIPs.
- Service Management: Direct the flow of service (plated, buffet, stations) during the event, ensuring synchrony with the kitchen and bar.
- Team Coordination: Assign stations and tasks to event staff, supervising their performance and maintaining high energy and standards.
- Client & Guest Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for the client or guest during the event, addressing requests and solving issues promptly.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure all service is delivered safely, hygienically, and to the specified standard. Oversee the breakdown and clearing of the event space.
- Reporting: Provide feedback to the Events Manager on staff performance and any incidents.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Substantial experience in banquet/event operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to read and execute BEOs precisely.
- Strong leadership and crisis-management skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of various food service styles (French, Russian, Butler) and bar setups.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is essential for coordinating with diverse teams and clients.
