Foreman (Pipe & Structural)
Job Summary:
The Pipe & Structural Foreman will lead a crew of pipefitters, welders, and fitters in the installation, alignment, and assembly of piping systems and structural steel. This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of the piping and structural erection crew.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and structural blueprints.
- Plan work sequences, allocate manpower, and manage tools/equipment for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure precise fit-up, alignment (using lasers and levels), and support of pipe spools and structural members.
- Enforce strict compliance with safety policies, quality control procedures, and technical specifications (e.g., ASME B31.3, EN 13480).
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inspections.
- Monitor material usage, report progress, and communicate any issues to the Project Manager.
- Mentor and train junior team members. Resolve on-site technical and coordination challenges.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in pipefitting/structural steel erection, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven leadership abilities and strong organizational skills.
- Expert knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, and structural connections.
- Familiarity with welding procedures and NDT requirements is essential.
- Excellent understanding of construction site safety management.
- Good communication skills in Romanian; English is a significant advantage.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification is preferred.
