Linux Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Linux Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure in a high-availability enterprise environment, preferably within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will ensure system stability, security, and performance while supporting critical banking applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Manage and troubleshoot storage solutions (LVM, NFS, SAN) and network configurations.
- Implement and maintain security policies, hardening measures, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
- Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
- Provide 24/7 support for critical production systems and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Perform root cause analysis for system incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Linux Engineer in an enterprise setting.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and related technologies.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls) and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant certifications (RHCE, LFCE, AWS) are a plus.
