MAINTENANCE MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR

JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee all mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair operations for a diverse fleet of cranes, ensuring peak mechanical performance, safety, and adherence to planned schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and supervise mechanical technicians in the maintenance of cranes (structure, mechanical power train, hooks, wire ropes, hydraulic systems, and slew rings).
- Plan and execute major mechanical overhauls, component replacements, and lifecycle management of critical parts.
- Conduct and review detailed mechanical inspections as per LOLER/equivalent and manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.
- Develop and optimize preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to workshop and site safety protocols.
- Manage mechanical spare parts inventory and coordinate with the procurement team.
- Provide technical training, oversee work quality, and manage the shift schedule for the mechanical team.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance forecasts, and downtime analysis.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Diploma with extensive experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in heavy mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role specifically within the CRANE or Heavy Lifting industry.
- Expertise in crane mechanics: gearboxes, winches, brakes, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and structural components.
- In-depth knowledge of international standards related to crane safety and maintenance.
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
