Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and safety-driven Senior Testing & Commissioning Engineer to lead the final and most critical phase of our infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure all systems are installed correctly, function as designed, and are handed over to the client in perfect operational condition. Your role is pivotal in transitioning a static project into a fully functional asset.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the overall Project Commissioning Plan, including detailed method statements, test procedures, and scheduling for all systems (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, and civil).
- Lead and coordinate all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing activities on-site, ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and design specifications.
- Chair commissioning meetings, coordinating efforts between subcontractors, suppliers, the client’s operations team, and the project construction team.
- Conduct inspections, witness factory acceptance tests (FATs), and oversee site acceptance tests (SATs) for major equipment.
- Systematically troubleshoot and diagnose faults in complex systems, coordinating with engineering and vendor representatives to implement effective solutions.
- Manage the snagging/punch list process, ensuring all defects are identified, logged, and rectified prior to handover.
- Prepare and compile all commissioning documentation, including test reports, calibration records, system manuals, and handover certificates.
- Provide training to the client’s operations and maintenance personnel on the newly commissioned systems.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or a relevant engineering discipline from a reputable university.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, with a substantial portion dedicated directly to testing, commissioning, and start-up of industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Industry Background: Must have experience with both consulting and contracting companies to understand the specification (consultant) and execution (contractor) aspects of commissioning.
- Project Exposure: Extensive hands-on experience in the commissioning of water networks, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, or similar utility/infrastructure projects is highly preferred. Experience with SCADA and control systems is a major plus.
