Transportation Dispatcher
Job Title: Transportation Dispatcher (Saudi National)
Reports To: Transportation Manager / Operations Manager

Position Overview:
The Transportation Dispatcher is the central nerve of the daily fleet operations. This role is responsible for the real-time coordination and communication between drivers, customers, and management to ensure efficient, safe, and timely movement of vehicles and goods. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real-Time Coordination: Assign drivers to trips, routes, and loads based on urgency, location, capacity, and customer requirements using dispatch software and tracking systems.
- Driver Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers via mobile data terminals, radio, or phone. Relay instructions, route changes, delivery/pickup updates, and safety alerts.
- Customer Service Interface: Communicate proactively with customers regarding ETAs, delays, or issues. Handle service inquiries and resolve immediate operational problems.
- Schedule Monitoring & Adjustment: Monitor driver progress and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance. Adjust schedules dynamically in response to traffic, weather, breakdowns, or urgent requests.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure drivers complete necessary documentation (e.g., trip sheets, delivery proofs). Compile and submit daily dispatch logs, exception reports, and incident summaries.
- Safety & Compliance Support: Enforce company safety policies. Report accidents or violations immediately to management and assist in preliminary reporting.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot operational issues such as mechanical breakdowns, missed deliveries, or customer disputes, escalating to supervisors when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Nationality: Saudi National.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a transportation dispatcher in a logistics, trucking, passenger transport, or supply chain environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch software, GPS tracking platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic; proficiency in English is highly advantageous.
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking abilities under pressure.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
- Knowledge: Understanding of local geography, road networks, and transportation regulations in Saudi Arabia.
