Heavy Driver (Heavy Truck Driver)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Driver to operate large vehicles (e.g., trailers, dump trucks, mixers, heavy cargo trucks) for transporting goods and materials across and between cities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of cargo, ensuring vehicle maintenance, and adhering to all KSA traffic and transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy vehicles in a safe and efficient manner according to company schedules and routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (tires, oil, fuel, brakes, lights, etc.) and report any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with safety standards.
- Plan routes using maps or GPS to ensure timely deliveries while considering road conditions and legal load limits.
- Maintain accurate logbooks (electronic or manual) of working hours, distance traveled, rest periods, and fuel consumption as per company and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all transport documents (waybills, delivery notes, permits) are correctly completed and submitted.
- Comply with all Saudi Arabian traffic laws, transport regulations, and safety standards.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, suppliers, and the public.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Saudi Arabian Heavy Driver license (رخصة قيادة ثقيلة) appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a heavy driver.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, road safety regulations, and handling heavy loads.
- Ability to perform minor roadside repairs and troubleshooting.
- Good physical health and stamina for long-distance driving and handling cargo.
- Familiarity with KSA road networks, especially in the assigned region.
- Basic understanding of English or Arabic for reading signs and documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
