Safety Officer (Short-Term Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly vigilant and experienced Safety Officer for a short-term contract based in the Eastern Region. The ideal candidate must be immediately available and possess a strong background in ensuring safety compliance, specifically within inspection or engineering project environments. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure a risk-free work site.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Inspection & Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure all operations comply with legal regulations and company safety policies.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards (e.g., for engineering/inspection activities) and define corrective measures.
- Incident Management: Report, investigate, and analyze workplace incidents/accidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive actions.
- Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate safety records, inspection logs, and permit-to-work documentation.
- PPE Enforcement: Ensure all team members wear and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Safety Briefings: Conduct daily tool-talk meetings and safety orientations for project staff and subcontractors.
- Emergency Preparedness: Ensure all emergency equipment is functional and staff are trained on emergency response procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer in the KSA.
- Certification: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly preferred.
- Availability: Must be available for immediate joining.
- Nationality: This position is open to Saudi Nationals only.
- Industry Background: Candidates with prior experience in inspection projects, engineering consultancies, or industrial construction will be given priority.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Saudi OSH legislation and risk management practices. Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
