Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from planning through execution and completion. This role involves overseeing technical aspects, coordinating teams, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines
- Coordinate with Project Managers and stakeholders
Technical Leadership
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
- Provide technical guidance and solutions to project teams
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices
- Resolve complex technical issues
Site Supervision & Execution
- Oversee on-site activities and ensure proper execution
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance
- Conduct site inspections and progress evaluations
Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards
- Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct audits
- Address non-conformities with corrective actions
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Promote a culture of safety at project sites
- Conduct risk assessments and safety reviews
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and site staff
- Conduct meetings and provide progress updates
Cost & Budget Management
- Monitor project budgets and control costs
- Review project expenditures and resource utilization
- Assist in procurement and contract management
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or related field)
Experience
- 6–12 years of relevant project engineering experience
Skills
- Strong technical and engineering knowledge
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
