Job Title: Structural Engineer
Job Summary
The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the safety and stability of structures such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. The role involves preparing structural designs, reviewing drawings, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and codes.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis
- Perform structural analysis and design of buildings and infrastructure
- Develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural systems
- Calculate loads, stresses, and structural stability
- Use structural design software for modeling and analysis
Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare structural drawings, layouts, and design calculations
- Review architectural and engineering drawings for structural feasibility
- Prepare design reports, specifications, and BOQs
- Maintain proper documentation of all design work
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and project teams
- Provide technical support during construction phases
- Clarify structural design requirements to site teams and contractors
- Attend project meetings and provide technical inputs
Site Support & Inspection
- Conduct site visits to ensure structural work is executed correctly
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork, and structural components
- Resolve on-site structural issues and provide solutions
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes and standards
- Follow industry standards (IS codes, ACI, Eurocodes, etc.)
- Ensure safety, durability, and quality of structural systems
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering specialization preferred)
Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in structural design or construction projects
Skills
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles
- Proficiency in design software (ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Ability to perform structural calculations and analysis
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
