Job Title: Draftsman (Architectural / Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)
Job Summary
The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts based on specifications provided by engineers or architects. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely delivery of drawings for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Design Support
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models based on sketches and specifications
- Develop architectural, structural, mechanical, or electrical drawings as required
- Modify and update drawings based on revisions and feedback
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in all technical drawings
Technical Documentation
- Maintain and organize drawing files and project documentation
- Prepare as-built drawings and revision records
- Assist in preparing BOQs, layouts, and design presentations
Coordination
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and project teams
- Incorporate design changes and updates as instructed
- Coordinate with site teams for drawing clarifications
Quality & Standards
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project specifications
- Maintain proper scaling, dimensions, and detailing accuracy
- Follow company drafting standards and templates
Software & Tools
- Use drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools
- Create and edit drawings using relevant design software
- Maintain updated digital drawing archives
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture / Drafting or related field
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in drafting (freshers may apply for junior roles)
Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or relevant drafting software
- Good understanding of technical drawings and design principles
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural sketches
- Good communication and teamwork skills
