Job Title: QA/QC Engineer (Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer)
Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering, manufacturing, or construction activities meet defined quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on quality planning, inspections, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Develop and implement Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and project specifications
- Prepare and maintain quality plans, procedures, and inspection checklists
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits
Quality Control (QC)
- Perform inspections and tests on materials, processes, and finished work
- Verify compliance with technical drawings, codes, and specifications
- Identify defects, non-conformities, and ensure corrective actions
- Maintain records of inspection and testing activities
Site & Project Support
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and contractors
- Monitor ongoing work to ensure quality compliance at every stage
- Conduct material approvals and incoming inspection checks
- Support commissioning and final handover inspections
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare QA/QC reports, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality records
- Maintain calibration records for tools and equipment
- Document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow-up actions
- Ensure proper filing and traceability of quality documents
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Support safety and environmental compliance where applicable
- Participate in site safety and quality meetings
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or related field)
Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in QA/QC or quality-related roles
Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASTM, BS, or other relevant standards
- Good analytical and documentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools
