Job Summary
A Cook specializing in South and North Indian cuisine is responsible for preparing authentic dishes, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, and supporting kitchen operations. The role requires knowledge of regional recipes, spices, and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and taste.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes (e.g., Dosa, Idli, Sambar)
- Prepare and cook North Indian dishes (e.g., Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka, Naan)
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet restaurant standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and cooking
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients
- Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent wastage
- Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook in Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques from both regions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
