Job Title: Head Waiter (Captain / Restaurant Supervisor)
Job Summary
A Head Waiter oversees the dining service team, ensuring high standards of customer service and smooth restaurant operations. This role acts as a link between the kitchen and service staff, coordinating service flow and enhancing the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of waiters and service staff
- Ensure excellent customer service and handle guest complaints professionally
- Welcome and seat guests when required
- Monitor service quality, presentation, and timing of food delivery
- Train and mentor junior waitstaff
- Assist in taking orders and serving food and beverages when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Manage reservations and table arrangements
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards
- Assist in billing and payment processes
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or hospitality certification (preferred)
- Proven experience as a waiter or in a supervisory role in hospitality
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Good knowledge of food, beverages, and service standards
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
