Job Summary
A Physiotherapist is a healthcare professional who helps patients improve movement, reduce pain, and restore physical function after injury, illness, surgery, or disability. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation using physical techniques and therapeutic exercises. In some healthcare settings, female physiotherapists may be preferred for treating female patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical condition, mobility, and functional limitations
- Develop individualized physiotherapy and rehabilitation plans
- Provide treatment for conditions such as:
- Musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, fractures, back pain)
- Neurological disorders (stroke, paralysis)
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Sports injuries
- Use treatment techniques such as:
- Therapeutic exercises
- Manual therapy
- Electrotherapy (ultrasound, TENS, etc.)
- Heat and cold therapy
- Assist patients in pain management and mobility improvement
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home care routines
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent
- Valid license to practice in the Philippines (PRC License – Physical Therapist)
- Clinical internship or supervised training experience
- Additional certifications in specialized therapy areas (preferred)
