Job Summary
A Registered Nurse is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring health conditions, administering medications, and supporting doctors in diagnosis and treatment. RNs play a key role in patient recovery, health education, and ensuring safe clinical practices in hospitals and healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient health conditions and record medical histories
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen levels)
- Administer medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) therapy as prescribed
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative care
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to doctors
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records and documentation
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and home care
- Ensure infection control and maintain hygiene standards in clinical settings
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life-saving care when needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree
- Valid nursing license (e.g., PRC license in the Philippines or relevant national board license)
- Completion of clinical internship or hospital training
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred or required in many institutions)
