Job Title: UAE Social Studies Teacher
Job Summary:
The UAE Social Studies Teacher is responsible for teaching students about the history, geography, culture, governance, and heritage of the United Arab Emirates. The role aims to develop students’ national identity, civic responsibility, and understanding of UAE society in alignment with Ministry of Education standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Deliver engaging lessons on UAE history, geography, culture, and government
- Promote awareness of UAE heritage, traditions, and national identity
- Encourage critical thinking and discussion on social and civic topics
- Use interactive teaching methods to enhance student understanding
2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum
- Plan lessons in line with UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum
- Prepare teaching materials, presentations, and learning resources
- Integrate real-life examples and current national developments
3. Student Assessment
- Assess student learning through tests, projects, and assignments
- Monitor and record student progress
- Provide constructive feedback and support academic improvement
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage respect, discipline, and active participation
- Manage classroom behavior effectively
5. Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership
6. National & Cultural Activities
- Organize and support activities related to UAE national events (e.g., National Day, Flag Day)
- Promote values such as tolerance, respect, and citizenship
- Encourage student participation in cultural and heritage programs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Geography, or related field
- Teaching qualification/certification (as per UAE regulations)
- Knowledge of UAE history, culture, and governance
- Prior teaching experience preferred
