Job Title: ICT Teacher (IGCSE – Experienced)
Job Summary:
The ICT Teacher (IGCSE) is responsible for delivering high-quality Information and Communication Technology instruction to secondary students preparing for Cambridge IGCSE examinations. The role focuses on developing students’ digital literacy, computational thinking, and practical ICT skills in line with Cambridge curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach ICT to IGCSE students following the Cambridge curriculum
- Deliver engaging lessons covering topics such as computer systems, data representation, databases, programming basics, networks, and digital applications
- Develop students’ practical ICT skills using relevant software and tools
- Encourage computational thinking and problem-solving skills
2. Curriculum Planning
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources aligned with IGCSE syllabus
- Ensure full and timely coverage of the curriculum
- Integrate technology, hands-on tasks, and real-world applications into lessons
3. Assessment & Exam Preparation
- Design and administer tests, assignments, and mock examinations
- Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE theory and practical assessments
- Analyze student performance and provide targeted academic support
- Conduct revision sessions and exam preparation workshops
4. Practical & Lab-Based Instruction
- Supervise practical ICT sessions in computer labs
- Ensure proper use of hardware, software, and digital tools
- Support students in completing practical coursework and tasks
5. Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined and productive learning environment
- Encourage active participation and student collaboration
- Ensure responsible and safe use of ICT resources
6. Student Support
- Provide additional support to students needing academic improvement
- Challenge and extend high-achieving students
- Encourage interest in technology, programming, and digital careers
7. Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
- Collaborate with other teachers and the IT department
8. Professional Development
- Stay updated with Cambridge IGCSE syllabus changes and ICT trends
- Participate in training sessions and workshops
- Contribute to department planning and school improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed or equivalent preferred)
- Proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE ICT
- Strong understanding of ICT concepts and practical applications
