Job Title: Inclusion Teacher (Special Education Needs – SEN)
Job Summary:
The Inclusion Teacher is responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and ensuring they have equitable access to the curriculum. The role involves working closely with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and individualized support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Support & Inclusion
- Identify and support students with additional learning needs
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide one-on-one and small group support
- Promote inclusion within mainstream classrooms
2. Teaching & Intervention
- Deliver targeted intervention programs based on student needs
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to support diverse learners
- Use differentiated instruction techniques
3. Assessment & Monitoring
- Conduct assessments to identify learning difficulties
- Track student progress and update IEPs regularly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
4. Collaboration
- Work closely with class teachers to support inclusive practices
- Liaise with parents regarding student progress and needs
- Coordinate with school counselors, therapists, and external specialists
5. Classroom Support
- Assist teachers in modifying lessons and assessments
- Support behavior management strategies
- Ensure accessibility of learning materials
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to inclusion policies and guidelines (e.g., MOE/KHDA where applicable)
- Prepare documentation for inspections and audits
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
7. Professional Development
- Stay updated with best practices in special education
- Participate in training and workshops
- Support staff training on inclusive teaching strategies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Education, or related field
- Special Education/SEN certification or training preferred
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Any nationality (as per hiring requirements)
