Job Title: Mathematics Teacher (IGCSE – Experienced)
Job Summary:
The Mathematics Teacher (IGCSE) is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to secondary students preparing for Cambridge IGCSE examinations. The role focuses on developing students’ numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while ensuring strong exam performance in line with Cambridge curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach Mathematics to IGCSE students following the Cambridge curriculum
- Deliver engaging lessons covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, and number theory
- Develop students’ logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Use varied teaching strategies to meet different learning needs
2. Curriculum Planning
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials aligned with IGCSE syllabus
- Ensure complete and timely coverage of curriculum content
- Integrate real-life applications and ICT tools to enhance understanding
3. Assessment & Exam Preparation
- Design and administer assignments, quizzes, tests, and mock examinations
- Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examinations
- Analyze student performance and provide targeted support and feedback
- Conduct revision sessions and exam-focused practice
4. Student Support & Development
- Identify and support students who need additional help
- Challenge high-achieving students with enrichment tasks
- Develop students’ confidence in mathematical reasoning and application
5. Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined and positive learning environment
- Encourage active participation and problem-solving discussions
- Manage classroom resources and instructional time effectively
6. Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
- Collaborate with mathematics department staff and school leadership
7. Professional Responsibilities
- Stay updated with Cambridge IGCSE syllabus updates and exam trends
- Participate in training, workshops, and professional development
- Contribute to departmental planning and school improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed or equivalent preferred)
- Proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics
- Strong knowledge of IGCSE exam structure and marking schemes
