Job Title: Biology Teacher (IGCSE – Experienced)
Job Summary:
The Biology Teacher (IGCSE) is responsible for delivering high-quality biology instruction to secondary students preparing for Cambridge IGCSE examinations. The role focuses on developing strong conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry skills, and exam readiness while maintaining high academic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach Biology to IGCSE students following Cambridge curriculum standards
- Deliver engaging and concept-based lessons in topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, human biology, and physiology
- Develop students’ scientific thinking, practical skills, and analytical abilities
- Conduct theory and practical lessons effectively
2. Curriculum Planning
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials aligned with IGCSE syllabus
- Ensure full syllabus coverage within academic timelines
- Integrate experiments, demonstrations, and ICT tools in teaching
3. Assessment & Exam Preparation
- Design and evaluate tests, quizzes, and mock examinations
- Prepare students for IGCSE examinations (theory and practical components)
- Analyze student performance data and provide targeted support
- Conduct revision sessions and exam-focused practice
4. Laboratory & Practical Work
- Plan and supervise biology experiments and practical activities
- Ensure laboratory safety procedures are strictly followed
- Guide students in recording and analyzing experimental data
5. Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined and engaging classroom environment
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and student participation
- Manage classroom resources effectively
6. Student Support
- Provide extra academic support for students needing improvement
- Encourage high-achieving students through enrichment activities
- Foster interest in biological sciences and related careers
7. Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
- Collaborate with science department staff and leadership
8. Professional Responsibilities
- Stay updated with Cambridge IGCSE syllabus changes and teaching methodologies

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or related Life Sciences
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed or equivalent preferred)
- Proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Biology
- Strong knowledge of IGCSE exam structure and marking schemes
