Job Title: Arabic Teacher (Secondary)
Job Summary:
The Arabic Teacher (Secondary) is responsible for teaching Arabic language and literature to middle and high school students. The role focuses on developing advanced language skills, critical thinking, and appreciation of Arabic literature, while preparing students for examinations in line with curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Deliver engaging lessons in Arabic language and literature for secondary grades
- Teach advanced grammar (Nahw), morphology (Sarf), comprehension, and composition
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills
- Introduce classical and modern Arabic texts, poetry, and prose
2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum
- Plan lessons aligned with curriculum standards (e.g., MOE, IGCSE, IB, or CBSE where applicable)
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials
- Integrate technology and interactive teaching strategies
3. Student Assessment & Exam Preparation
- Design and administer tests, assignments, and exams
- Prepare students for board or international examinations
- Monitor progress and provide targeted academic support
- Maintain accurate records of student performance
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined and respectful classroom environment
- Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and participation
- Manage time and classroom activities effectively
5. Academic Support & Guidance
- Provide extra help to struggling students
- Encourage independent learning and research skills
- Support high-achieving students with enrichment activities
6. Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
- Collaborate with colleagues and department leadership
7. Co-curricular Activities
- Organize debates, essay writing, poetry recitations, and literary events
- Promote appreciation of Arabic culture and heritage
- Support school programs and competitions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arabic Language or Literature
- Teaching qualification/certification (as per local regulations)
- Strong command of Arabic (spoken and written)
- Experience teaching secondary-level students preferred
