Job Title: Plumbing Technician
Job Summary:
A Plumbing Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems, fixtures, and equipment used for water supply, drainage, and sanitation. The role ensures all plumbing works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, pumps, valves, etc.)
- Read and interpret plumbing drawings, layouts, and specifications
- Perform leak detection, pipe fitting, and pressure testing
- Install and maintain pumps, water heaters, and related equipment
- Ensure proper alignment, slope, and support of piping systems
- Inspect plumbing systems and identify faults or required maintenance
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs on-site
- Follow safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools and materials
- Maintain daily work reports and service records
- Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians on site
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI / Trade Certificate in Plumbing or related field
- Proven experience as a plumbing technician or plumber
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and installation techniques
- Ability to read drawings and use measuring instruments
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Physical fitness for site work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, facility management, or maintenance projects
- Knowledge of hot and cold water systems, drainage, and sewage systems
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, and water treatment systems
- Basic understanding of safety standards and regulations
