Job Title: Civil & Structural Engineer
Job Summary
The Civil & Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction of civil and structural components of projects such as buildings, industrial structures, foundations, and infrastructure. The role ensures structural safety, stability, compliance with codes, and successful execution of construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze civil and structural components including foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and steel structures.
- Prepare structural drawings, design calculations, and technical specifications.
- Review architectural and engineering plans to ensure structural feasibility and compliance.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering teams.
- Perform structural analysis using engineering software tools.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates, and material requirements.
- Evaluate soil reports and foundation requirements.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
- Identify and resolve structural issues during design and construction phases.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.
- Proficiency in structural design software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, or equivalent).
- Understanding of building codes and standards (IS codes, ACI, BS, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Project management and coordination skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 2–7+ years of experience in construction or structural design projects.
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Professional certification or licensure is an advantage.
