Job Summary
The Captain Waiter is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests while managing an assigned section of the restaurant. The role ensures smooth service operations, maintains high hospitality standards, and provides a memorable dining experience through professional and attentive guest interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and personalized service to guests according to restaurant standards.
- Manage assigned tables and ensure efficient service throughout the guest experience.
- Welcome guests, present menus, explain menu items, and provide recommendations when required.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen and bar teams.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages while maintaining presentation standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Coordinate with the Head Waiter, kitchen, and other service team members for smooth operations.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and promotions.
- Perform table setup, clearing, and resetting according to service standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness procedures at all times.
- Assist in training junior waitstaff and maintaining service quality.
- Support opening and closing duties as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in fine dining, luxury restaurants, or high-end F&B operations.
- Previous experience as a Waiter or Senior Waiter is required.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
- Experience handling VIP guests is an advantage.
