Job Summary
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and specialty drinks while providing excellent customer service. The role requires strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of beverage quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and beverage equipment.
- Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all beverages.
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments using POS systems.
- Recommend beverages and provide information about coffee selections when required.
- Maintain proper coffee preparation techniques and follow recipes and standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and beverage supplies.
- Assist with stock ordering, storage, and product rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Handle guest feedback and requests professionally.
- Support opening and closing duties, including equipment cleaning and station setup.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or hospitality qualification preferred.
- Previous experience as a Barista in a café, restaurant, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods, espresso preparation, and beverage techniques.
- Experience with coffee machines and bar equipment.
- Barista certification is an advantage.
