Job Summary
The Head Waiter is responsible for supervising the front-of-house service team and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The role involves coordinating daily restaurant service, supporting waitstaff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring smooth communication between guests, servers, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise waiters and service staff during daily operations.
- Welcome guests and ensure a warm, professional dining experience.
- Assign tables and sections to service staff and monitor performance.
- Train and guide waitstaff on service procedures, menu knowledge, and hospitality standards.
- Take guest orders accurately and ensure timely food and beverage service.
- Monitor table service quality and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Coordinate with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service flow.
- Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and restaurant presentation.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, promotions, and special offers.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, including staff briefings and service preparation.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and company service standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in fine dining, luxury restaurants, or high-end hospitality.
- Previous experience as a Senior Waiter or similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Good understanding of restaurant operations.
