Job Title: Bus Driver
Job Summary
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along assigned routes while providing courteous and professional customer service. The role includes operating the bus in compliance with traffic laws and company policies, conducting vehicle safety inspections, maintaining accurate trip records, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus on designated routes and schedules.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops.
- Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure the bus is clean, safe, and in good operating condition.
- Assist passengers, including elderly individuals and passengers with disabilities, when required.
- Collect fares or verify tickets/passenger passes where applicable.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and incident reports.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, breakdowns, or accidents in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and passengers.
- Report delays, accidents, or route issues promptly.
- Maintain professional behavior and provide excellent customer service at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or applicable bus driving license as required by local regulations.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Previous experience driving buses or commercial vehicles is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
